Diving the DAN wreck off Bornholm is a bit of a historical jaunt. This old ferry went down in 1942, and while it's classified as dangerous, we've found it offers a solid dive for those comfortable with wreck penetration, though most of the action is on the exterior. Lying at around 20 metres, the visibility can be variable, but on a good day, you get a decent outline of the vessel. We usually find schools of small fish hanging around the superstructure, and the occasional crab or lobster tucked into crevices. It’s a good spot for divers looking for a piece of wartime history with some resident marine life, rather than a vibrant reef.
