Dreetzsee - Bornholm

Woo South, for us, is one of those sites that just feels right. It’s got that classic Pemba drop-off vibe, but with a few extra surprises that always put a smile on our faces. We love drifting along the wall, keeping an eye out for the unusual. You’ll often spot Blue-spotted Stingrays resting on sandy ledges, their patterns vivid against the white. And the nudibranchs here, particularly the Granulated Drupe and Prickly Spotted Drupe, are ridiculously photogenic. We once spent an entire dive mesmerized by a pair of Spangled Emperor hunting, their scales flashing in the dappled sunlight. Look closely in the rubble areas, and you might just find a Humpbacked Conch slowly making its way across the seafloor. The Green Turtles here are also famously curious, often gliding past with a slow, deliberate grace. Visibility tends to be excellent, often pushing past 25 metres, which just makes the whole experience feel expansive. We’d suggest going in the late morning, when the sun is high, really illuminating the reef’s colours. It’s a great drift dive for those comfortable with a bit of current, offering a relaxed but rewarding experience.
