EGEN - Bornholm
Egen isn’t going to win any awards for deep diving, topping out at a mere 3 metres, but what it lacks in depth it makes up for in character. This old freighter ran aground back in '62 and has been slowly breaking apart ever since, creating an interesting, jumbled landscape of metal and wood. The wreck is well-colonised by kelp and other algae, providing shelter for crabs, blennies, and often a decent school of fish darting between the decaying hull sections. It’s a perfect spot for divers looking for a relaxed, shallow exploration, or those keen on underwater photography without the pressure of strong currents or big depths.
