GOTEBURG - Bornholm

The GOTEBURG wreck, a former destroyer resting at 39 meters off Bornholm, holds a raw, compelling history. It wasn't sunk by battle, but rather by target practice, which gives it a unique character. You'll find a hull that's been torn and buckled in places, not by raging seas, but by deliberate shell fire – a stark reminder of its past life. We love how the damage has created so many interesting entry points and swim-throughs, now draped in vibrant anemones and soft corals. It's a proper technical dive, and we'd suggest bringing your twinset and a good torch, because while the visibility can be excellent, those deeper sections really demand a focused beam. Look closely for the wolfish lurking in crevices, and we’ve even spotted ling snaking through the torpedo tubes. This isn't a site for beginners; it’s for divers who appreciate a wreck with a story, and who are comfortable with depth and overhead environments. Our favourite part is navigating the twisted metal plates where the stern once was, feeling the cool water swirl around you as you imagine the impacts that put her there.
