KATIE - Bornholm
The Katie wreck off Bornholm is one for history buffs who don't mind staying shallow. This sailing vessel went down in 1972, just 3 meters from Bogø Island, while being towed to England for museum preservation. You'll find the hull and some superstructure still visible, sitting in just 2 meters of water. It's a remarkably easy dive, perfect for extended bottom times where you can really soak in the details of the old ship. Look closely for the smaller stuff, crabs scuttling amongst the timbers, and schools of juvenile fish darting through the remains. We think it’s a good spot for newer divers, or anyone who enjoys a leisurely poke around a piece of maritime history.
