Kronborg isn't about tropical fish or vivid coral, it’s about touching history. This isn't some deep, technical dive; at only 10 metres, it's accessible to almost everyone, making it our pick for a unique Bornholm experience. The wreck itself, a military vessel sunk in 1801, has settled into the seabed, its timbers softened by two centuries of cold Baltic water. You’re not just seeing a wreck, you’re seeing an archaeological site, feeling the chill of the past as you trace the outline of its hull. We love how the light plays on the aged wood, filtering down from the surface, creating an almost ethereal glow. Visibility can vary, but on a good day, the details emerge: the gentle curve of a rib, the ghostly outline of what was once a deck. It’s perfect for those who appreciate the quiet drama of historical wrecks over flashy reef dives. Look closely amongst the timbers; small crabs scuttle, and various Baltic fish species use the nooks and crannies for shelter.
