LIDENBORG - Bornholm

The Lidenborg, resting just 5 meters down, is a real charmer. We love it because it’s a proper wreck dive without the commitment of serious depth or currents. She’s a merchant vessel that sank back in 1947, and now she sits upright, mostly intact, offering a fantastic wander-through for divers of all experience levels. You’ll drop down onto the main deck, often finding inquisitive cod peering out from between rusted bulkheads. Sunlight filters through the shallow water, illuminating the various nooks and crannies where blennies dart and crabs scuttle. Our favourite part is exploring the cargo holds; they’re wide open and easy to fin through, providing a real sense of being inside a shipwreck. You can push into the stern section, peek into what was once the engine room, and even swim over the bow, which points north. The wreck has become a fantastic artificial reef, thick with kelp and various anemones. It’s an ideal spot for macro photography too, especially around the mast and rigging. We’d suggest going on a calm day, as even slight surface chop can stir things up a bit at this depth.
