LILLE ETHEL - Bornholm
Lille Ethel. Now, this one is a bit special. Not because it’s a deep, dramatic wreck, but because it feels like you’ve stumbled upon a secret. She’s an old yacht, sitting upright in just 11 metres of water, almost perfectly preserved. We love that you can see her entire shape as you descend, the mast pointing skyward, still lashed with lines that wave gently in the current. Visibility here on a good day, often in late summer, can hit 10 metres, letting you really appreciate the scale. Our favourite part? Slipping into the small cockpit, imagining the last moments she sailed. The deck is covered in mussels and anemones, and you’ll spot gobies darting from every crevice. She’s a dangerous wreck, yes, but for divers, that means a fascinating, intact structure. We’d suggest a slow, easy dive, taking your time to explore the cabin structure and the rudder. It’s a photographer's dream for wide-angle shots that capture the whole vessel, and perfect for newer wreck divers wanting to experience history without the challenge of depth or strong currents.
