LINNEA - Bornholm

The LINNEA isn’t your typical deep wreck, and that’s precisely why we love it. This motor vessel lies in Bornholm's shallows, maxing out at a mere one metre, which makes it less about penetration and more about the interplay of light and history. We’re talking sunlight dappling through the water, illuminating the skeletal remains of the hull, creating these incredible, shifting patterns on the sand below. It’s an ideal spot for anyone looking to spend a relaxed afternoon exploring, really taking their time with a camera. What you'll see here is a fascinating study in colonisation. The wreck itself is heavily encrusted, a testament to years underwater, and it’s become an apartment block for the local critters. We’ve spotted plenty of blennies peeking out of crevices, little crabs scuttling over the metal, and often schools of juvenile fish flitting in and out of the corroded structure. It’s a photographer's dream for wide-angle shots showing the wreck against the sky, or for macro enthusiasts keen to capture the small, intricate life making a home there. Our tip: go on a calm day with good sun, the visibility really sings then, and the play of light on the wreck is at its most dramatic.
