MINESWEEPER 165 - Bornholm

The Minesweeper 165 off Bornholm is a fantastic shallow wreck, one we always enjoy visiting. We love how accessible it is, sitting upright in just 13 metres of water, making it a comfortable dive even on days when the North Sea feels a bit feisty. The visibility here can really surprise you, often stretching to 15 metres on a good day. You can spend a whole dive just circling the hull, observing the way the light filters down through the green water. Our favourite part is the amount of life that has claimed the wreck. You’ll spot schools of small cod darting between the metal plates, and sometimes a grumpy flatfish will eye you from under a beam. The deck guns are still present, overgrown with anemones and hydroids, making for some excellent photo opportunities. It's not a massive wreck, but there are plenty of nooks and crannies to peer into, and we’d suggest taking your time exploring the stern section. It’s a great site for divers who appreciate history and enjoy the quiet observation of how wrecks become artificial reefs.
