MOLUND
Why dive here
With 66+ marine species recorded in the area - including jellyfish lake - MOLUND offers some of Bornholm's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 3-18°C, warmest July, August, September.
Molund. What a beauty. This motor vessel went down in 1983, a quick collision sending her to the seabed in minutes. Now she sits upright, proud, and largely intact at 50 metres, a proper playground for experienced wreck divers. You’ll find her off Bornholm, an island we adore for its surprisingly good diving. We always time our dive here for a calm day. Less surge on the surface means an easier descent down the line. As you drop, the visibility can be patchy, but once you hit the 30-metre mark, things usually clear up. The bow is our favourite part, though the whole 67-metre length is explorable. You can peer into the bridge, swim along the decks, and even penetrate the cargo hold if you’re properly trained and equipped. The Molund isn't just a hunk of metal; it’s become a home. Ballan wrasse dart through the superstructure, and we’ve seen some seriously chunky cod lurking in the shadows. The sheer scale of the wreck, sitting so perfectly, always impresses us. It’s a proper expedition, not one for the faint of heart, but incredibly rewarding.
