MRZE-10 - Bornholm

MRZE-10 is a wreck dive, pure and simple, and it's our favourite kind: the sort where you can still feel the ship's story. Down at 36m, the cold water of the Baltic has done a fantastic job of preserving her. You drop onto the deck, usually with visibility around 10-15m on a good day, and the first thing that hits you is the sheer scale. We love tracing the deck lines, seeing the masts still standing, almost pointing skyward, and the bow section, still intact, feels like it’s ready to plough through waves again. It's not about big pelagics here; it's about the intricate details and the small stuff that has made this wreck home. We've seen cod darting in and out of the holds, big schools of small fish hanging motionless above the superstructure, and crabs scuttling over the plating. Penetration is possible for experienced wreck divers, but honestly, there's so much to see from the outside. Our top tip: bring a good light, even on a sunny day. The colours really pop when you illuminate the metalwork and the growth. This site suits divers who appreciate history, don’t mind the chill, and love the quiet, atmospheric beauty of a well-preserved wreck.
