OSNABRUCK - Bornholm

The Osnabruck, off Bornholm, is a proper time capsule, sitting pretty in shallow water. It’s a dangerous wreck, sure, but what a dive. We love this site for its accessibility and the way the Baltic has just embraced it. You’ll find the wreck spread across the seafloor at a depth of 9m, remarkably intact in places despite the years. We usually drop in and head straight for the bow section, where the structure is still quite defined. Look closely, and you’ll spot flatfish tucked into the sand and crabs scuttling over the plating. The light penetration is fantastic here, giving the whole site an almost ethereal glow, especially on a sunny morning. Our favourite time to dive it is early, before any wind picks up, when the surface is like glass. It’s a wreck dive that really lets you take your time, exploring the remnants of its cargo holds and imagining its final moments. For divers who appreciate history and the slow reclamation by the sea, the Osnabruck offers a genuinely engaging, reflective experience.
