ROMA - Bornholm
The Roma, a steamship that went down in 1922, sits upright at 44 metres, making it a proper technical dive off Bornholm. You'll find her largely intact, the bow pointing west, with the mast still reaching a fair way up from the deck. The ship's structure provides a great home for cod and blennies, and we've often seen sizeable schools of pollack hanging above the wreck. It's a dark dive, as you’d expect at this depth in the Baltic, so good lights are essential for appreciating the details of her superstructure and the life clinging to it. This one is definitely for those comfortable with deeper dives and cooler temperatures.
