SALLY - Bornholm
The Sally wreck off Bornholm is one of those sites that always leaves us feeling a little thoughtful. She’s a steamship, sunk back in May of 1940, and she now rests at a very accessible 20 metres. You’re not going to find any vibrant coral here, of course, but the wreck itself is quite atmospheric. We’ve found her to be well-colonised by local fish life, with schools of cod often hanging around the superstructure and crab scuttling across the deck. It’s an easy dive, really, perfect for anyone keen on exploring a piece of history without deep-diving certifications. Just be mindful of that “dangerous wreck” classification; while much of the danger from shifting parts has settled over the decades, always treat a wreck with respect.
