SECUNDA - Bornholm

The Secunda, off Bornholm, is one of our favourite wreck dives in the Baltic, mainly because she’s so accessible and has such a clear story. Sitting upright in just 12 metres, you can spend a full hour exploring her. The visibility here can be surprisingly good, especially on a calm morning, letting you take in the whole ship. We love dropping down to see the wheelhouse first, often finding a big cod lurking inside, looking quite territorial. You’ll fin along her deck, past cargo hatches that are now home to colonies of anemones and small blennies. The superstructure is fairly intact, making for some interesting swim-throughs if you're comfortable with confined spaces, just be mindful of loose cables. We’d suggest focusing on the bow and stern, where the most interesting features are – anchors still in place, and the propeller largely clear of the seabed. It’s not a challenging dive, making it perfect for newer wreck divers or those wanting a relaxed dive with a tangible piece of history. Just watch for occasional fishing lines near the shallower parts of the wreck.
