Tauchspot an der Gartenanlage bei Feldberg am Schmalen Luzin - Bornholm

Quadra Rocks is one of those places that reminds you why you put on a drysuit even when it’s spitting rain. We love it for the sheer, raw Alaska experience. Dropping down, the first thing that hits you is the sheer scale of the rocky walls, draped in these incredible red soft corals. Seriously, they’re everywhere, creating a technicolor carpet against the grey rock. You’ll be scanning for Roughpatch Shrimp or a Shortscale Eualid tucked into crevices, then suddenly a massive Sunflower Star will appear, its dozens of arms stretching out. We’ve had dives here where a school of Pacific herring, dense as a cloud, enveloped us completely. Above water, the Pigeon Guillemots are a constant presence, and we’ve even spotted Bald Eagles watching from the trees. If you’re lucky, and keep an eye on the bigger blue, you might catch a glimpse of a blue whale making its migration. Our tip? Go in late summer for the best chance of decent visibility and keep an eye on the tides – currents can be a factor, but they also bring in the good stuff. It’s a site that rewards patient exploration and a love for the rugged beauty of cold-water diving.
