THORE HAFTE - Bornholm
The Thore Hafte, a steamship that met its end on a mine in 1916, now rests in the relatively shallow waters off Bornholm. Lying at just 10 metres, it's an accessible wreck for most divers, though visibility can be variable here, so we always check conditions before gearing up. What we appreciate about the Thore Hafte is its broken but still evocative structure. You can trace the outline of its hull, the bow and stern still distinguishable, and the ribs of the ship provide plenty of nooks and crannies for local fish. Expect to see cod, blennies, and sometimes even a curious flatfish making a home among the metal. It’s a good spot for newer wreck divers to get a feel for exploring history underwater without significant depth challenges.
