Wreck of U-7 - Bornholm

Diving the HMS Foresight is a real kick, especially for those of us who appreciate a bit of history beneath the waves. This isn't some perfectly preserved museum piece, which is precisely what we love about it. She’s an F-class destroyer, sunk back in '42, and you can really feel the weight of that history down there. The wreck itself is broken, twisted metal, spread across the seabed, but it’s still remarkably cohesive, giving you plenty to explore. We particularly enjoy tracing the debris field, imagining the chaos of its final moments. Visibility here can be a bit changeable, but on a good day, the light filters through the water beautifully, illuminating the dark recesses of the hull sections. You’ll find schools of fish darting in and out of the structure – those lanternfish and hatchet fish are regulars, making for some interesting encounters against the somber backdrop of the wreck. Our top tip? Take your time. Don't rush it. There are often smaller details you'll miss if you're just powering through. It’s a site that rewards patience and a keen eye, perfect for divers who enjoy a thoughtful, exploratory dive rather than just a quick glimpse.
