Why dive here
With 95+ marine species recorded in the area - including seals & sea lions, sea turtles and jellyfish lake - ALMA offers some of North Sea Coast's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 3-19°C, warmest July, August, September.
The ALMA, a dredger vessel, sits upright on the seabed at 20 metres. It’s a substantial wreck, broken in places, offering a few penetration points for experienced wreck divers. You’ll find a surprising amount of fish sheltering in the hold and around the superstructure, mostly cod and flatfish, with crabs scuttling over the plates. This site is a decent wreck dive for those comfortable with North Sea conditions.
