ASTER - North Sea Coast
The ASTER sits upright on the seabed off the North Sea coast, a substantial wreck at 78 meters long. She went down in heavy seas in 1998 after her cargo shifted, a reminder of the raw power of the ocean. Descending, you'll find the main superstructure still largely intact, allowing for some interesting penetration for those properly trained and equipped. The wreck has become an artificial reef, with various fish species finding shelter in her holds and among the tangled metalwork. It’s a good dive for experienced cold-water wreck enthusiasts who appreciate a bit of maritime history.
