Dykkerklubben Nemo - North Sea Coast

Dykkerklubben Nemo is one of those sites that demands you recalibrate your expectations for North Sea diving. Forget the usual gloom; here, we’ve found surprisingly good visibility on a calm day, often reaching 8-10 meters, which makes all the difference. It’s a shallow dive, rarely exceeding 10-12 meters, making it accessible for newer divers but still interesting for experienced eyes looking for the smaller stuff. What we genuinely love about Nemo is the sheer density of life clinging to every surface. The jetties themselves are encrusted with hairy sea-mats and scarlet sea anemones, pulsing gently in the slight current. Look closer and you’ll spot northern pipefish camouflaged amongst the weeds, and occasionally, a curious Atlantic jackknife peering out from under a rock. Our favourite moments here are drifting slowly along the pilings, watching the schools of sprat darting and weaving like a silver curtain, often signaling a much larger predator, perhaps even a harbour porpoise on a lucky day. The entry is straightforward, usually just a giant stride off the jetty, but do check the tides; slack water is always best for the clearest conditions.
