FJORDEN - North Sea Coast

The Fjord can feel like a secret handshake among North Sea divers. It’s a 1962 dredger, sunk deliberately after it became too dangerous for service, which tells you something about its original state. These days, it's a calm, easy dive at just 11 metres, perfect for newer wreck divers or those looking for a relaxed afternoon bimble. We love how the wreck is just broken enough to allow curious exploration without feeling like a jumbled mess. You’ll spot the two large excavators first, massive scoops now encrusted with dead man's fingers and anemones. We’ve seen blennies darting into every crevice and a surprising number of flatfish hugging the sand around the hull. Swim through the open holds, where light filters in from above, and watch for schools of cod sheltering in the shadow. Our favourite part? The engine room, where the machinery is still surprisingly intact, giving you a real sense of its working life before it became a home for crabs. It’s a gentle introduction to wreck diving, with enough to explore to make it a genuinely rewarding experience.
