Flipper II - North Sea Coast
Palawan’s reef diving feels like dropping into a living aquarium, but a much bigger, wilder version. We love the drift dives here, letting the current carry you over fields of table corals and through schools of fusiliers so thick they momentarily block out the sun. Keep an eye out for the Eye-lash Harptail-Blenny perched on coral heads and the way Spotted Hawkfish will playfully eye you from their perch. It’s not just the big stuff; the reef is alive with smaller details. Look for the Two-toned Pygmy Squids flashing their colours, or a shy Nocturn Goby peeking from its burrow. We’d suggest a morning dive, as the light penetrates the shallows beautifully, bringing out the vibrant purples and oranges of the coral. The currents can pick up, making it a great site for divers comfortable with a bit of movement.
