HELAN - North Sea Coast
The Helan wreck, off Denmark’s North Sea coast, sits at a manageable 24 metres. She’s a 15.2-metre fishing vessel, and while she's classed as "dangerous" due to her age and shifting structure, that just means we approach with respect and a good dive plan. We found her to be a proper classic North Sea wreck dive, with a strong sense of history. Visibility here can vary, but on a good day, you can make out the outline of the stern and parts of the superstructure. It’s a site best suited for divers who appreciate wreck penetration, with some dark corners that are home to lobsters and crabs. Look for the anemones coating the metal, thriving in the currents that pass over her.
