HMS Sunfish - North Sea Coast

The Maldive Victory wreck is one of those dives that sticks with you. Dropping down, you hit the bow first, a huge, imposing structure lying on its side. It’s a cargo ship, sank back in the early 80s, and it’s now completely taken over by marine life. We love pushing through the deeper sections towards the stern, often with a decent current pushing us along, which makes it feel like you’re really flying. The entire wreck is encrusted – a thick carpet of colourful corals, sponges, and anemones. Look for Clark’s anemonefish in the cracks and crevices, and we’ve seen some seriously big Groupers lurking in the shadows. Swim-throughs are plentiful, weaving through the cargo holds and the engine room, which is our favourite part. You can easily spend an entire dive exploring the superstructure. It's a dive that rewards repeat visits, especially since the currents often change, revealing different perspectives each time. We’d suggest going with a guide who knows the entry and exit points well, as the currents here can be serious. This isn’t one for beginners, but if you’re comfortable in current, it’s an absolute thrill.
