IDEFIX - North Sea Coast

Idefix isn't your average North Sea wreck; she's a gutsy little fishing vessel that went down in 1982 and settled upright, a rarity. We love that she's so intact, offering a real sense of what she was like in her working life. Dropping down, you'll see her mast still standing proud, reaching almost to the surface, and her wheelhouse is remarkably preserved, making for some fantastic swim-throughs if you're comfortable with overhead environments. The fishing nets that entangled her are long gone, leaving her clean and accessible. She's home to some seriously chunky cod, often lurking in the shadow of the hull, and we've spotted crabs scuttling over her deck plates. The visibility here can be temperamental, as is typical for the North Sea, but on a good day, when the light penetrates, the wreck glows with an eerie green hue. We'd suggest aiming for a slack tide dive to fully appreciate her features without battling a current. This site is a fantastic pick for experienced cold-water divers who appreciate a wreck with a story.
