Why dive here
With 95+ marine species recorded in the area - including seals & sea lions, sea turtles and jellyfish lake - IRIS offers some of North Sea Coast's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 3-19°C, warmest July, August, September.
The schooner Iris sits at a shallow 4 meters off the North Sea coast, making it accessible even for newer divers. What you get is a broken-up wreck, scattered but still recognisable in parts, offering plenty of nooks for small fish to hide. It's a relaxed dive, good for extended bottom times and photographing the way life has taken hold on the old timbers. We’d suggest going at high slack tide for the clearest conditions, as the North Sea can stir up a bit of sediment.
