KAI - North Sea Coast
The KAI, a steamship built in 1921, went down in 1941, falling victim to a mine while under German control. She sits upright at 22 metres, her 79-metre length still impressive. We've found the stern section often holds the most interest, with the propeller and rudder still largely intact, a real magnet for the local cod and wrasse. Given the North Sea's character, we’d suggest timing your dive for slack water; visibility here can shift quite a bit, but on a good day, exploring her bridge structure and cargo holds offers a good sense of her working life. It's a solid wreck dive for those comfortable with deeper conditions and a bit of current.
