KON-TIKI - North Sea Coast

The Kon-Tiki isn’t your typical warm-water wreck. Dropping down in the North Sea, you immediately feel that shift in environment, a cooler, murkier embrace. This old fishing vessel, now resting at 22 metres, has a real character to it. We love how the upright sections still give you a sense of its original form, unlike some of the more scattered debris fields out there. You’ll find a surprising amount of life hunkering down amongst the steel. Cod often patrol the superstructure, and if you bring a good light, you can spot crabs tucked into every crevice. Our favourite detail? The way the occasional strong current has polished parts of the wreck, almost like driftwood, while other areas are fuzzy with anemones. It’s a dive for those who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of genuine adventuring. We’d suggest timing your dive for slack tide; it makes exploring the wheelhouse and other exposed areas much more enjoyable. It’s a dive that rewards patience and a keen eye, proving that the North Sea holds its own quiet wonders.
