Why dive here
With 95+ marine species recorded in the area - including seals & sea lions, sea turtles and jellyfish lake - KR3 offers some of North Sea Coast's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 3-19°C, warmest July, August, September.
The KR3, a fishing vessel that sank in a collision back in 1958, sits upright on the seabed at 25 metres. It's a proper example of a North Sea wreck, not huge, but with enough structure to warrant a good poke around. You'll find the usual suspects here, cod and pollack often sheltering in the broken wheelhouse, with decent sized crabs tucked into every crevice. Visibility can be a bit of a gamble, but on a good day, it’s a solid dive for those who appreciate a bit of maritime history and the hardy marine life that calls these northern wrecks home.
