KRISTA LYNG - North Sea Coast

The Krista Lyng, sitting at 29 meters on the North Sea floor, is one of those wrecks we keep coming back to. She’s a decent sized fishing vessel, 34 meters long, and surprisingly intact for her age. We love pushing into the wheelhouse and imagining the fishermen’s last moments on deck, even though the fishing gear is long gone. The holds are still open, tempting you to slip inside, but the narrow passages mean good buoyancy is crucial. What makes her a standout isn't just the history, though. It's the sheer volume of life that has claimed her. Schools of cod hang off the bow, eyeing you as you descend, and we’ve spotted some surprisingly large lobsters tucked into every nook and cranny. The visibility here can be tricky, often settling around 5-10 meters, so a good torch is a must. We always hit this site on a slack tide, otherwise the current can make navigating the wreck a real workout. She’s a perfect dive for those who appreciate a genuine wreck experience, offering plenty of exploration without being overly challenging.
