LIZZIE - North Sea Coast

The LIZZIE is a great introductory wreck, sitting upright in just 12 metres of water off the Danish coast. We often recommend it for those getting comfortable with overhead environments or just keen to explore a well-preserved piece of history. You'll find the wreck largely intact, with parts of the superstructure still holding strong, allowing for some easy penetration into the cargo holds. The light filters down beautifully through the openings, illuminating the beams and bulkheads within. It's not a site for big pelagics, but we love the sheer volume of critters that have made the LIZZIE home. Look closely and you'll spot blennies poking their heads out from every crevice, crabs scuttling over the decaying metal, and small schools of cod darting between the frames. The currents here can pick up, so we always suggest checking the local tide tables and planning your dive for slack water. Visibility can vary quite a bit too, but even on an average day, the wreck's character shines through.
