LYKKENS PROVE - North Sea Coast

The Lykkens Prove is one of those wrecks that just has *character*, you know? It went down in 1968, a fishing trawler that ended up tangled in its own nets and capsized in a storm. Now she lies pretty much intact, upright, and just begging for a proper look around. We love that you can still make out so much of her original form – the wheelhouse, the mast, even the winch gear. It really tells a story. At 17 metres, it’s a comfortable depth for extended bottom time, making it our pick for newer wreck divers or those wanting a relaxed exploration. The hold is accessible for properly trained divers, and we’ve had some fantastic moments peeking inside, torch beams cutting through the gloom. What really gets us, though, is how the local marine life has utterly taken over. Cod lurk in the shadows, their scales glinting, and we've spotted some seriously chunky crabs scuttling across the deck plates. The visibility here can be… *variable*, especially after a good blow, but on a calm day, it’s absolutely worth the dive. Just be mindful of that North Sea chill; a drysuit is definitely our recommendation.
