LYSTO - North Sea Coast
Lysto, a steamship sunk by a mine in 1943, lies broken at 24 metres off Denmark's North Sea coast. What's left of her hull is scattered, testament to the powerful blast, but it’s created a series of interesting nooks and crannies for divers to explore. Visibility here can be tricky, often typical of the North Sea, but on a good day, you’ll find plenty of local fish sheltering in the wreckage. Expect to see cod and flatfish, with plenty of crabs scuttling over the plates. This site is really for those who appreciate the history of a wreck, rather than those seeking intact structures.
