The M49, a minesweeper from a century ago, rests at 22 metres in the North Sea. It’s a proper historical dive, the kind where you feel the weight of its past. We’ve explored her decks, picked out the triple-expansion engine, and imagined those 3.4-inch guns. This wreck is a dangerous site, as the data notes, so you need to be mindful, but the rewards are there. Expect a resident population of cod and conger eels, tucked into the structure. It’s a dive for those who appreciate maritime history and don't mind the sometimes moody visibility of the North Sea.
