MAJA - North Sea Coast
The **Maja** sits at a very manageable 15 metres on the North Sea coast, a motor vessel lost back in 1943. While officially classified as a “dangerous wreck,” we’ve found it’s more about respecting its age and less about genuine peril for recreational divers. Visibility here can be a bit of a lottery, as it often is in the North Sea, but when it clears, the wreck offers a genuinely atmospheric dive. The hull is heavily encrusted, a testament to decades underwater, providing shelter for all sorts of local crustaceans and flatfish tucked into crevices. It’s a site that really suits those who appreciate the history and the slow reclamation of the ocean over a vibrant coral scene.
