MARTHA - North Sea Coast

Martha. Even the name sounds like a grandmother's secret. This isn’t your typical Caribbean coral garden, not even close, but for us, it’s a brilliant dive for those cooler, murkier days that Denmark often delivers. The Martha herself is a trawler, a proper working boat that found her resting place upright on the seabed at a shallow 12 metres. What we love about Martha is her accessibility. You can spend a good hour just finning around her structure. The wheelhouse is still largely intact, and peering into it, you almost expect to see the captain’s ghost. She’s become a home for a surprising amount of life. Crabs scuttle across the deck plating, and we’ve often spotted decent-sized cod lurking in the shadows of the hold. It’s a great spot for photographers keen on wreck details and the hardy critters that call them home. Our tip? Go on a slack tide day; the North Sea can be a bit frisky, and a calm current really helps with visibility around the wreck. It’s a dive for those who appreciate history and don't mind trading bright colours for an atmospheric wreck exploration.
