METTE DAHL - North Sea Coast

The Mette Dahl, she's a proper North Sea lady, sitting upright at 33 meters. Not many wrecks stay so intact after going down, but she did, a testament to her sturdy fishing vessel build. When we drop down, the sheer scale of her is the first thing that hits you – you can still make out the wheelhouse, the deck structures, even the fishing gear. It’s like a ghost ship, just waiting for her crew to return. The visibility here can be… Danish, let’s say, but when it's good, you can spend a whole dive just circling her, taking in the details. We love finding the nooks where the cod and conger eels hide. Our favourite thing to do is poke around the stern, where the prop is still visible, often covered in anemones. This site is a brilliant pick for experienced wreck divers who appreciate the history and solitude of a truly intact vessel, rather than just a pile of scattered metal. Just be prepared for the chill, even in summer, and always dive it with someone who knows the area.
