METTE MARIE - North Sea Coast

The Mette Marie, sitting in just four metres of water, is a wreck dive with a real personality. We love its accessibility; it’s perfect for a long, relaxed dive, even if you’re newer to wrecks or just want to spend some serious time exploring. You’ll find the fishing vessel largely intact, though time and the North Sea have definitely left their mark. What makes it a standout for us is the way the light filters through the shallow water, illuminating the rust-coloured hull and creating a constantly shifting play of shadows. It feels surprisingly vibrant, despite the chilly Danish waters. Crabs scuttling across the deck are a common sight, and we often spot small schools of fish darting in and out of the broken superstructure. Our favourite tip? Head out on a calm, sunny day. The visibility can truly open up, letting you appreciate the wreck’s scale and the details that make it feel like a submerged time capsule. It's a proper wreck dive without the deep-water pressure.
