Why dive here
With 95+ marine species recorded in the area - including seals & sea lions, sea turtles and jellyfish lake - MUSSE offers some of North Sea Coast's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 3-19°C, warmest July, August, September.
Musse, a fishing vessel that went down in 1946, now sits upright at 24 metres off the North Sea Coast. We find it’s a site that appeals to divers who appreciate a good historical wreck without the frills. The ship is well-colonised with anemones and the occasional crab peering out from crevices, making it feel less like a steel coffin and more like a living reef. Visibility here can be a bit of a gamble, but on a good day, exploring the wheelhouse and deck structure offers a decent dive, especially for those who enjoy poking around older vessels. It’s a solid wreck dive for experienced cold-water divers.
