NF 399 - North Sea Coast

NF 399 isn't about vibrant corals or big pelagics. It’s about history, cold water, and the unique, rugged beauty of a North Sea wreck. This Danish fishing vessel sits upright in just 8 meters of water, making it surprisingly accessible, though the North Sea can be a bit moody with visibility. We’ve found the best conditions often come after a few days of settled weather. Dropping onto the wreck, you're immediately struck by the sheer scale of it, considering the depth. The bow faces west, and the stern is still largely intact, a testament to the build quality. We love exploring the wheelhouse area, which is partially collapsed but still offers some interesting swim-throughs if you’re comfortable in confined spaces and have the right training. Expect to see cod lurking in the shadows, their dark scales almost blending with the rusting steel, and a surprising number of crabs scuttling amongst the plates. This isn't a dive for photography unless you enjoy moody, low-light shots, but it's our favourite for feeling that direct connection to the sea's past. Perfect for wreck enthusiasts who appreciate the stark beauty of a cold-water site and don't mind a bit of a current.
