The OCTA, a steamship resting at just 10 metres, offers a quick, accessible wreck dive off Denmark’s North Sea Coast. We found it a decent entry into North Sea wreck diving, especially for those who prefer shallower depths. What’s left of the vessel is scattered, creating an interesting debris field rather than a single intact structure. It’s certainly a dangerous wreck, as the classification suggests, with sharp, corroded metal, but the resident cod and schools of pollack have made good use of the cover. We’d suggest going on a calm day; visibility here can be a bit shifty with the North Sea chop. It's a nice easy dive if you’re looking to tick off a wreck without too much fuss.
