OLYMPIA - North Sea Coast

The OLYMPIA, just off the North Sea Coast, is a wreck dive that really sticks with you. We love how accessible it is, sitting upright at a comfortable 12 metres, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it's simple. This motor vessel, a victim of a mine, is a genuinely atmospheric dive. As you descend, the superstructure slowly materialises from the green North Sea glow, a stark silhouette against the lighter surface. You can often make out the bow, then the bridge area, surprisingly intact for its age and demise. We’d suggest taking your time exploring the deck, looking for clues to its past. It’s not about finding specific species here, more about the general buzz of life that has claimed the metal hull. Crabs scuttle in the shadows, and schools of small fish drift lazily around the mast, often seeming completely unfazed by divers. Visibility can be hit or miss, so pick a calm day with minimal swell for the best experience. For those who appreciate history and the quiet beauty of a wreck reclaimed by the sea, the OLYMPIA is a compelling dive.
