With 95+ marine species recorded in the area - including seals & sea lions, sea turtles and jellyfish lake - PAX offers some of North Sea Coast's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 3-19°C, warmest July, August, September.
The PAX, a motor vessel, lies at a shallow 14 metres off the North Sea Coast, making it a good wreck for divers new to this kind of diving. We found it’s become quite colonised, with the wreck itself forming a kind of artificial reef for local fish life. You'll often see schools of cod weaving through the superstructure, and crabs scuttling amongst the metal plates. Despite its "dangerous wreck" classification, it's more about the history and the marine life drawn to it than any deep penetration. It’s a solid dive for those looking for a relaxed exploration of a piece of maritime history.
