SG 52, a fishing vessel resting at 23 meters on the North Sea coast, holds a different kind of allure. This isn't a site for chasing big pelagics; it’s a solemn wreck, known to be a mined vessel from Danish records, classified as dangerous. We approach it with respect, navigating the collapsed superstructure that now acts as an artificial reef. You’ll find flatfish tucked into the sand nearby, and sometimes schools of juvenile cod dart through the fractured hull. Visibility can be a challenge here, often requiring patience, but for those who appreciate the history and the quiet tenacity of marine life reclaiming a somber piece of the past, SG 52 offers a unique dive.
