SIG - North Sea Coast
For those looking to explore a piece of history off Denmark’s North Sea coast, the SIG wreck at 8 metres offers a shallow, accessible dive. This steamship, sunk by a mine in 1950, is surprisingly intact, considering its demise. We’ve found the bow and stern sections quite distinct, with plenty of nooks to poke around in, perfect for spotting wrasse and blennies darting between the rusty plates. It’s a site that suits newer wreck divers or anyone keen on a relaxed exploration without deep decompression obligations. You’ll often find schools of pollock hanging around the superstructure, a testament to how quickly the sea reclaims these old vessels.
