Why dive here
With 95+ marine species recorded in the area - including seals & sea lions, sea turtles and jellyfish lake - T 78 offers some of North Sea Coast's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 3-19°C, warmest July, August, September.
The T 78 lies in 26 metres of water, a torpedo boat sunk by a mine in 1917. She’s a decent sized wreck at nearly 50 metres long, and while she's certainly showing her age, there's still plenty of structure to explore. We’ve found her to be a great spot for macro life, with plenty of crabs tucked into crevices and anemones waving from exposed metal. Visibility can be a bit variable out here, so pick your day. It’s a solid dive for anyone keen on a piece of history and a bit of a rummage.
