THERMIJ OR THERMIS - North Sea Coast
The Thermij, or Thermis, sits upright at 23 metres, a steamship that went down in 1949. We’ve found the wreck itself is quite intact, with the stern particularly well-preserved. It’s an interesting dive, certainly for wreck enthusiasts who appreciate a good history. Expect to see a decent amount of fish life around the superstructure – cod and pollack often shelter in the hold, and we’ve spotted crabs scuttling across the deck. Due to its ‘dangerous wreck’ classification, be mindful of potential fishing nets, but otherwise, it’s a straightforward penetration for those with the right training and gear.
