The Thomali is a fishing vessel, tangled and broken across the seabed at 15 metres. We found it’s a site that changes with the light, often quite moody, with good penetration into parts of the wheelhouse if you’re comfortable in confined spaces and have a light. Expect resident cod and ling to dart from the darker corners, and always keep an eye out for flatfish camouflaged on the sand nearby. It’s a compelling dive for those who enjoy exploring the bones of a ship, feeling the history of the North Sea.

    Safety Notes

Wreck site - avoid penetration without wreck diving certification. Watch for sharp metal and entanglement hazards.

Cold water this month (avg 13°C). Drysuit or thick wetsuit (7mm+) recommended.

Always perform a 3-minute safety stop at 5m before surfacing.
